About ScienceTheGuide

A guide built the way science is: one checked step at a time.

ScienceTheGuide is a free, growing guide to biology and chemistry. We explain ideas plainly, put working tools beside them, and show the data so you can see it for yourself.

01 · WHY WE EXIST

Science should not need a decoder.

Good explanations of biology and chemistry exist, but they are scattered: a textbook chapter here, a calculator on another site, a chart with no source somewhere else. ScienceTheGuide brings the three together on one page.

Each topic gets a guide you can read in one sitting, the reference values it depends on, a tool to try it, and a chart that shows the numbers. Pages link across fields, because a cell is chemistry and a reaction can be biology.

02 · WHAT WE HOLD TO

Four rules for every page.

Clear before complete

Start with the idea in plain words. Detail and exceptions come after, never instead.

Sourced and dated

Every value names where it came from and when the page was last checked.

Learn by doing

Where a topic has a calculation, the tool sits next to the explanation.

Grows in the open

New pages are added steadily, and corrections are shown, not hidden.

03 · OUR METHOD

How a page gets made.

We borrow the shape of the scientific method: ask, gather, test, publish, and stay ready to be corrected.

STEP 01

Question

We pick a topic people actually search for or get stuck on.

STEP 02

Sources

Textbooks, standards bodies and primary data are gathered and noted.

STEP 03

Draft

The guide is written, with its tool and chart built alongside.

STEP 04

Review

A second person checks the facts, the numbers and the tool results.

STEP 05

Revise

Published pages are re-checked and updated when readers flag a problem.

04 · WHO IT IS FOR

Anyone who needs the answer and the reason.

  • Students Revise a topic and check your working.
  • Teachers Charts and tools ready to put in front of a class.
  • Lab workers Quick calculators and reference values at the bench.
  • Curious readers Understand the science behind everyday things.

05 · THE PEOPLE
